Chiropractic Adjustment

Chiropractic adjusting, or spinal manipulation is a safe, effective treatment modality used to restore mobility and function in any joint in the body. Doing so helps to balance the neuromusculoskeletal system as a whole. There are serval ways to achieve this goal.

Chiropractors are most well-known for traditional adjusting which involves a quick impulse at joint end range, sometimes accompanied by a popping sound. This treatment has been proven very safe, but makes some people uncomfortable. That is why I offer other low force options to achieve the same result.

Activator adjusting, joint mobilization, drop table, SOT blocking, and digital pressure are all effective ways to impart movement into a joint space. I cater the care that I provide to every patient’s comfort level and individual needs. We will discuss which options are best for your body to construct the ideal treatment plan specific to you.

Soft  Tissue Modalities

Soft tissue work is a key part in caring for your neuromusculoskeletal system. Massage with a licensed massage therapist is one way to address soft tissue concerns, but I offer a couple options  that pair well with a chiropractic adjustment.

Graston or gua sha is a form of instrument assisted soft tissue therapy which allows a provider to work out soft tissue lesions and fascial adhesions. It promotes circulation and came sometimes cause some light bruising.

Cupping is a form of fascial decompression therapy that applies a novel stimulus to the nervous system to decrease tension in soft tissues. Cupping also increases blood flow and typically results in light, circular bruising.

I am happy to answer any question about these modalities and talk you through how they would best apply to you and your treatment plan. Almost every patient will receive some form of soft tissue therapy during a treatment to better assist your body’s healing, but it doesn’t always involve cupping or Graston tools.
